Exclusive Interview with Buffy S.9's Andrew Chambliss and Georges Jeanty

We're here at day 4 of San Diego Comic Con and have so many panels and interviews to share, but we felt we must get this interview up as quickly as possible. This morning we interviewed Buffy Season 9's writer Andrew Chambliss along with artist Georges Jeanty at the same time, which was also the first time they met in person! Wish we had Scott Allie introducing them to each other, it was definitely a Whedonverse moment. Talking to us, they were adorable and even leaked us a few tidbits. We talk timelines, new characters & yes, Spike. So without further ado, here is the creative duo of Buffy Season 9!:

Great interview! Georges I already love (kinda have to, if you've been working with him for a few years now), but Andrew Chambliss seems like a really cool guy too.
And soooo cute!

So what I'm kinda getting is that Joss destroyed the seed for the purpose of giving Buffy a chance at having a 'real life' while introducing new characters to sort of tie up the supernatural loose threads...I think I'm gonna love this season.

Thanks for the great interview - you both must be having a great time. Looks like BS9 is going to be a great new season. Great to get the info on the new characters and that the "Origins" theme introduced in BS8 is going to be connected. I was intrigued by that theme when it was first introduced and always kept hoping that it would show up in the BS8 season.

I'm still pretending they aren't canon, because they shouldn't have tampered with Giles and screwed up Angel. Grr.

Thanks everyone! We had a great time with these guys and Joss walking behind us at 3:56 is hysterical. I'm actually going to post more about that today because that story gets even crazier.

As far as Buffy S.9 goes, yes I agree with both of you Jos Molida and nmcil12 about origin/bringing Buffy back to reality. Although I can also get down Melinda's comment...I still have a hard time swallowing Giles death at Angel's hand. What in the world are they going to say and do to even begin to resolve that?

These guys were gracious, awesome and cute. Very fun interview.
